Dolphin cruise in Amvrakikos Gulf with fishing and food
As soon as the boat leaves the port of Preveza, we start our trip to the wetland of the Amvrakikos Gulf, an ecosystem that has been declared a National Park and is protected by…
international treaties. In a landscape of unparalleled beauty and tranquility, observing bottlenose dolphins is a unique experience. These magnificent creatures, which here count one of the largest populations in the Mediterranean, often approach the boat in a playful mood.
But it is not only the dolphins that we will encounter. During the warmer months in the waters of the bay we will see caretta caretta turtles, emerging briefly from the surface of the water before disappearing into the safety of the seabed.
On our boat trip we will also see islands with different species of birds, such as silver pelicans, cormorants, herons, several of which are protected species. We will talk about fishing methods and we will fish with a probe in one of the bays. We will anchor on one of the islands in the bay, where we will swim and observe the bottom with masks – for those who wish to do so.
And when you finish your swim, freshly fried fish , homemade pies and local flavors will be waiting for you on board, which we will enjoy together accompanied by a cool beer or local tsipouro and wine!
