Hiking in Kissavos and the Kalypso waterfall
Kissavos, the eternal rival of Olympus, but it is its geological continuation, separated from it by the impressive valley of Tempi. The eastern slopes of the mountain are characterised by torrents, waterfalls and dense forests of fir, beech, oak and chestnut trees, creating a unique aesthetic forest, which has been included in the NATURA 2000 protection network as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Although a small mountain you can find a wide variety of plants and trees! …
In this place the sea embraces the mountain, streams, lakes and rivers alternate with forests of fir, beech, chestnut and plane trees and the gorges feed the sea with gurgling waters. This is where legends intertwine with stories, where Asclepius obtained most of his herbs, where the mythical hero Hercules is believed to have breathed his last breath, where the two mythical giants, Othos and Ephialtes, tried to reach the gods. A unique experience of mountains, sea, waterfalls and lakes in a pristine landscape!

Information
Our program will start with the ascent to the top of Kissavos, we will pass by the traditional village of Spilia and head for the mountaineering shelter. There we will find a spring with fresh cool water to fill our canteens and off we go to the top! From the top you have a panoramic view, to the west the plain of Larissa, to the south the plain of Agia, to the east the sea where the slopes of Kissavos fade away forming coves and to the north you can see Mount Olympus rising majestically in front of you. In front of us spread gorges, canyons and rivers, and somewhere in there the waterfall of Kalypso is hidden
