Hiking in North Agrafa
Lake Plastira – Observatory – Elatakos Shelter – Zygogiannneika
Hiking with a view of the imposing peaks of northern Agrafa. The trail starts from the main road and crosses the lush green fir forest. The path is of mild form with very beautiful viewpoints but also with very impressive passages through rocky sections.
A short stop at the observatory at 1350 m where the view will enchant you. A large part of the lake is visible. The countless fjords and the impressive colours of the lake spread out below us. Then, passing a rocky section, we continue through the forest following the path for an hour in a wild and unspoilt environment.
The completion of the hike ends at the large plateau where the self-managed Elatakos climbing shelter is located at an altitude of 1456 m where we will enjoy a hot tea. The return is by another trail which leads to the settlement of Zygogiannika where the van will be waiting for our transfer.
The whole route takes 4 hours and is a beautiful walk for children and adults alike.
