The picturesque Papigo with its stone houses will be the starting point of our hike.

The springs that we will meet on the uphill but well-marked path of the busiest route will quench our thirst until the shelter of Astraka . We continue to Drakolimni with the newts, on the top of Tymfi at an altitude of 2070 meters overlooking the gorge of Aoos and the second highest mountain of Greece, Smolika.

After 8-9 hours of hiking we will return to Papigo and the “swimming pools”, natural water slides, for rest and swimming.

The path we will follow is the oldest ‘staircase’ of the region and dates back to the 13th century, with a very good cobbled path connecting Kapesovo and Vradeto.

We will continue to the “Beloi” position, a natural balcony at the top of the gorge from where we will have the opportunity to enjoy the entire Vikos gorge.

Starting from the bridge of Aristi, we walk alongside the Voidomatis River, on a foot and eye friendly path.

A route for the whole family with no elevation gain that leads us after about an hour to the monastery of Agioi Anargyroi.

We continue to the stone bridge of Klidonia for some rest and a small snack in the park of the plane tree by the river.

Hiking in Konitsa – Stomio Duration: 4 hours

Difficulty level: moderate – difficult trail

We start from the stone bridge of Konitsa and after walking next to the banks of the Aoos river we continue on the uphill path under the crags of Gamila.

We arrive at the holy monastery of Stomiou built on a balcony overlooking Trapezitsa and the Aoos Gorge. Return by the same path.
