Kayak and snorkeling in Kardamyli and Stoupa
Kardamili and Stoupa, two villages of Mani built between the blue waters of the Messinian Gulf and the Taugetos, create one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Peloponnese. Kayaking trips here are one of the most popular activities and a unique way to explore the lacy shores of Mani. Paddling in warm crystal clear waters, exploring hidden coves and impressive rock formations. We visit sea caves and discover idyllic beaches dotted along the coastline…
Our journey starts from the old port of Kardamyli. Before departure, your guide will brief you on the details of the route, paddling techniques and safety measures. Soon we will explore the coast at a leisurely pace and the guides will reveal some of the secrets of the area. Each small cove hides a special surprise, such as hidden sea caves, rock gardens, hidden coves and beaches. The view of the seabed from a kayak is unique. You can see marine life through the crystal clear water and possibly a sea turtle swimming below us if we are lucky. One of the highlights of this trip is a visit to the Blue Cave. A spectacular natural phenomenon where sunlight passes through a crack in the cave and reflects off the seabed giving the area a unique illumination. Swimming in the cave is an experience of a lifetime. On the way we will visit rocks that rise from the sea and an option here for those who dare is to try diving from above. At the halfway point we will make a relaxing stop for swimming, mask and snorkel exploration and to sample a homemade picnic with fresh local produce. After lunch we will paddle back to the starting point to complete an incredible day on the Mani coast.
