Your first dive from the beach in shallow water to a rocky reef where friendly fish and marine life await you. An additional open water dive around the Caldera and the volcano is provided if you wish to explore the underwater environment further. The entire Discover Scuba Diving experience takes approximately 2 hours .First you will have a lesson with a qualified instructor covering some physics, physiology and underwater communication. Then you will learn how to operate the mechanism. Next, we will walk straight out to sea from the beach in front of the dive station. In water shallow enough to stand in we will do some simple exercises and then you will breathe underwater for the first time (if you haven’t done it before). Then we will take you out into the water to stand up. If everything is “OK”, you will swim underwater to the reef at a maximum depth of 6-7 metres. After we return from the reef we get out, remove the equipment and dry off. We consider this to be a very safe activity. The dive is easy and not very physical. In most cases, “spirit over matter” applies to diving. At Santorini Dive Center, with more than 60 years of experience, you are in the best hands. Ages over 10 years old.

PADI Open Water Certificate

The first certificate that allows you to dive to 18 metres anywhere in the world. There is only one requirement to join the Open Water course, you must be 10 years old and love diving. The Open Water diving course combines diving theory with practice.

It can be completed within 4 days and at the end of the course, you will receive a certificate that allows you to dive anywhere in the world at 18m. Before you start diving you will cover topics such as physical diving, physiology, medicine, environment and dive safety. You will complete the online course from the comfort of your couch and then get ready for some action at the dive centre.

4 open water dives to complete over 4 days with your instructor. You will learn how to use the scuba gear, buoyancy techniques, how to dive from the boat and navigation. The maximum depth reached is 18 m. At the end of the course, you will make your dive and be a certified diver.

PADI Advanced Open Water

Once you have completed the Open Water course, you can continue with your training by following the advanced course, designed to make you a confident diver capable of diving up to 30 metres. Advanced Open Water consists of 5 specific dives with five different specialties

You must first complete the Deep Dive and the Navigation Dive, and then you can choose the 3 dives you want to complete from the following

• Peak Performance Buoyancy,
• Wreck Diving,
• Underwater Naturalist,
• Boat Diving,
• Fish Identification,
• Night dive

 

At the end of the course you will make your dive and receive your PADI Advanced Open Water certificate

The course lasts 3 days from 10:30 to 14:30 or 2 intensive days.
