Sea Kayak and guided tour in Porto Heli
A trip that includes a unique number of secluded coves and the deepest, warmest and crystal clear waters! Starting from Costa, 5km. From Porto Heli, the crossing point of the ferries to Spetses, you will be impressed by the luxurious and large villas. From there we will go by kayak and head west towards …
port of Porto Heli. Starting from the first couple of meters, you will see pine trees in the sea, a play of light and shade with the sand and water, coloring the seabed pink and the waters with multiple varieties of blue and deep green.
You will see countless coves, magnificent cottages, wonderful resorts, private beaches (the owner of which has imported the famous white sand to fill the bay in front of his hillside villa), so paddling on this coast will look heavenly.
On our route we will also see “Hinitsa” a beautiful and untouched island whose history goes back to antiquity. Then it was called Aliousa and was mentioned already in the second century A.D. by Pausanias himself as a refuge for boats and fishermen of the area. It is reasonable to assume that it had a role in the construction and process of Porphyra, which was famously done by the inhabitants of “Alieis”, a settlement that existed today in Porto Heli and which flourished during the centuries before the coming of Christ.
Hinitsa also appears in history along with the Slavic invasions in the 6th century AD, and during the fleet of the Byzantine Emperor Constantine II, it was used as a naval station to Sicily. Today Hinitsa is a small island that you can visit if you have a boat and want to explore an uninhabited place.
The waters are crystal clear but there are no organised beaches. Along the route there are remains of the ancient harbour and the sunken colonnade of the temple of Apollo, which are still visible in the shallow waters. On our way back we will stop at a beach surrounded by lush vegetation and crystal clear waters that offer peace and relaxation, swim, rest and enjoy a meal of local, organic produce.
