Experience a three-day climb on Mount Olympus
Meeting point on Friday at 5:00 in the afternoon in Litochoro (possibility of meeting at Litochoro station for those who come by train). Transfer by jeep to the location Gortsia (1100m.) (14 km by car from Litochoro). At 7:00 in the afternoon the 3-hour climb to the shelter of Petrostrougas at 2000 meters altitude begins...
Overnight in the shelter or in tents if there are no beds available. Breakfast 7:00-7:30 and at 8:00 the ascent to the Muses plateau starts (about 4 hours). Stop for rest at the shelter X. Kakkalos and in the afternoon ascent to the peaks of Toumba and Pr. Elias.
Alternatively, for those of the group who wish and can cope, there will be an ascent to the two highest peaks of Mytikas or Stefani (Throne of Zeus). For this climb, good physical condition, basic mountaineering skills are required and will only take place if weather conditions permit.
In addition, an experienced mountain guide and the necessary equipment (helmet, harness, safety belt) are provided. In the afternoon return to the plateau for rest and overnight in the shelter or in tents.
On Sunday morning, following the "short" path, we reach in two hours the shelter of Sp. Agapitos. Stop for rest and continue the descent to Prionia. Possibility for lunch or coffee at the picturesque tavern of Kiritsis.
In the afternoon we return to Litochoro with the jeeps that will be waiting for us.
