Tour of Lake Marathon and a winery Claimed

highway towards the northern suburbs of Athens, and in the area of Agios Stefanos our adventure route begins. Following this route in the wide area near Marathon we approach the lake where our first stop is. Lake Marathon is a water supply reservoir for the city of Athens, formed by the construction of the Marathon dam at the confluence of the Haradros and Varnavas torrents. Ample time for photo opportunities is provided at the stunning view of the Marathon Lake dam. Continuing our daily tour around the lake, enjoying our uncharted routes and panoramic views, we arrive at Rathes and the Fairy Forest of Varnavas for a second stop. Admiring the colours of nature, the dense vegetation of the plateaus and the waters offer an ideal stop in the Greek nature. Following our uncharted route and crossing the vineyards of the Kostas Lazaridis Estate will lead us to the Kostas Lazaridis Wine Museum and the Oinotria Land Winery. Our wine expert will welcome us and we will begin our tour of the winery on the wine making process, along with the production of local distilled spirits and balsamic vinegar. Our visit continues to the cellars where we will have a tasting of 3 wines and a vinegar along with local cheese and traditional oak and barley breads. After our tour of the winery we take a quick drive around the Kapandriti area where we will have our lunch stop to fill our appetite accompanied by local Greek platters.

With our mood full of memories, the tasting of excellent wines, Greek platters and the impeccable service of our special escorts and sommeliers, we will follow the road back to Athens.
