Canyoning in Tzoumerka (Papapidima Gorge)
Canyons are deep cuts in the earth carved by water, streams and torrents, creating waterfalls and ponds. Crossing these canyons - canyoning - is an activity that requires climbing equipment, as well as special protective suits (neoprene) against water and cold, which are of course offered by VIA NATURA...
The gorge is located just above the Tsibovo bridge on the river Arachthos. It is a canyon ideal for canyoning beginners and easy for the whole family. It has jumps and flying fox and not too high rappel on six waterfalls with the smallest at 3.5 meters and the highest at 20 meters . It has escapes for every eventuality, very important not only for safety, and easy walking to the start and finish.
Have fun!!!!

In Syrrako, a beautiful village of Pindos, with traditional architecture and rich history, is the gorge of Stavraetos. The name comes from the bird of the same name, which is constantly in the skies of Lakkos and Tzoumerka.
The starting point of the canyoning activity is at the entrance of the village and it ends at the Chrousia River. A total of 11 waterfalls with the smallest at 5 meters and the largest at 47!!!! with impressive variations in morphology and geology.
It is a demanding canyon for the experienced, but also for all those who want to test their limits, because after canyoning, it requires walking down the river to our cars.
But the incredible scenery, admittedly, makes up for our efforts.
Note It can be made easier if you bypass the big waterfall and use the escape, but keep the magic of the route.
