Our daily safari into the secrets of Cretan flavours and culture begins with a visit to the Klados winery in Panormos. There we will be welcomed by the winery owner for a wine tour and a mouth-watering wine tasting experience unraveling the secrets of high longevity in Crete. Continuing our day we follow a route through traditional villages of Mylopotamos (Dafnedes, Appladiana, Agridia) and areas with dense vegetation, fresh aromas and unique views, until we reach the historic Chalepa Monastery, which was a refuge for Cretan rebels during the civil war. The unique view of Psiloritis and the Mylopotamos region from the monastery will inspire you to take photos, combining the highest mountain peak in Crete with the beautiful valley. Then our stunning off-road route continues with panoramic views that will take your breath away. If we are lucky, we will manage to admire some wild eagles and goats up close and take some photos. Continuing our route through picturesque villages nestled amongst lush vegetation, we will have plenty of opportunities to take pictures of picturesque chapels, sheep, goats, extensive vineyards and beautiful olive groves. A paved route will take us to a traditional and modern olive press in the village of Melidoni in Rethymno. There you will have the opportunity to tour three different olive oil factories (ancient handmade production, diesel powered and modern centrifuge production) learn all about olive harvesting, olive oil production and taste some local olive oil.

Open our appetite we arrive at a small tavern of the village in Melidoni, where we will introduce you to the Cretan cuisine with plenty of Cretan delicacies and let you feel the essence of the famous Cretan hospitality. On the way back we will follow an easy asphalt road via the highway before arriving back in the town of Rethymnon.
