Sea kayaking on the small islands in Vathi

We start paddling in Frikes in the morning and exit Frikes Bay. Then we visit the traditional Kioni, one of the most elegant villages of the Ionian Sea, where we can stop for a quick coffee. On our way South to Vathi we will explore the coastline of the highest mountain of Ithaca, Mount Nirito...

There are many wonderful beaches to discover their secrets by snorkeling. We stop for a break in the crystal blue waters of Nisaki beach.

Before crossing from the North to the South side of the island, we stop at a tiny beach opposite the entrance of Vathi harbour. On the last part of the trip we pass by the islands of Lazaretto and Skartzoubonissi and then finish the trip at Odyssey Outdoor Activities.

What does the activity include? :

Single or double seat sea kayak equipment in kayaks, paddles, spray decks, personal flotation devices
Additional equipment such as dry bags, water pumps, sponges, etc.
Snorkelling equipment (masks and snorkels)
Water: One litre per rower
Experienced kayak guide with full safety equipment and first aid kit - British Canoe Union (BCU) certified and first aid trained
Kayak trip and safety briefing
Sea kayaking instructions and training if you want
Transfer back to the starting point

Sea kayaking on the 3 famous beaches of the island of Ithaca

The all time classic day trip to Ithaca. During this trip we explore two of the most famous beaches of Ithaca. We visit the islet of Lazaretto in the middle of Vathi harbour, paddle around Skartsoubonissi at the exit of the harbour, pass by...

traditional chapel of Agios Andreas and stop at the bay of Schinou for swimming and snorkeling. We then explore the fossilized sedimentary shoreline before Gidaki beach and swim and snorkel in the blue waters of Gidaki bay.

Finally we reach the bay of Filitros where we can relax before returning to Vathi. If the group has only strong paddlers who enjoy paddling more, we can continue to Sarakiniko beach and paddle along the vertical rocky coastline of Cape Skotaria. There are more than 10 beaches on our way to stop for a snorkel or just a break and we try to choose the most secluded and beautiful ones depending on the conditions.
