Horse riding in Papigo Claimed

We leave the main road and head towards the church of Prophet Elias after passing through a small intersection. From arid rocky cliffs to lush oak forests and stunning views of the area around us, this trail offers a variety of scenery.

As we descend, we pass some lovely old fields that serve as balconies, offering stunning views of the towns of Vikos and Aristis, as well as the valley and its towering cliffs.

During this trip, there are a few places where you can have fun. This ride is for experienced cyclists only. All rides are weather dependent! (Thunderstorms, high winds or icy conditions prevent us from getting out.)

In case of light rain or snow, rides will be held.

Depending on the rider's ability, age and skill level, we provide a range of rides. All rides take place in the beautiful countryside, on goat trails, dirt tracks, open fields and small paths in the woods, which offer stunning views of the area!

their isolated stables. Before the town became a tourist destination, it passed through small oak forests with bushes along the ancient abandoned fields originally used to grow grain and other crops for local livestock, sheep and goats kept by the inhabitants.

Along the way we have a wonderful view of the outflow of the Vikos Gorge and the sources of the Voidomatis River. Both of these trails are suitable for beginners or intermediate level riders as well as for young children (starting from 2 years old). Horses will be led or riders will manage them themselves on these rides, which will be done on foot or by horseback, depending on the comfort levels of the clients.

All routes depend on the weather! (Storms, strong winds or ice ground conditions prevent us from cycling.) It is possible to ride in light rain or snow. Due to the abundance of snow on the trails, this is not possible during the winter months. It allows visitors to form strong bonds with their horses, while providing a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding environment!

The duration of the ride can be somewhat longer as we modify it depending on weather conditions, riders and other factors.

Then, it passes upwards past giant black pine trees and lovely golden wheat fields kissed by the breeze.

While the horses are loose, we pause for a short picnic and lunch.

Continuing our descent towards the village, we join another hiking trail that leads to the local water reservoir and offers stunning views of the communities below.

To book this trip you must book at least one week in advance. All trails are subject to weather conditions! (In thunderstorms, high winds or icy conditions, we do not go outside.)

We have a magnificent and steady view of the beautiful hills of Papigou along the route and then a stunning view of the settlement with the Vikos Gorge in the background on our return. This trail offers the option to go at a slightly higher speed.

Younger children can participate in this ride provided that they feel comfortable with the horse for the whole duration (we can ride 1-2 horses behind us, the rest must be handled by their riders).
