The ancient small church of "Agii Apostoli", erected between 1050 and 1150 and the site that shaped modern history, hides a millennium of history.
The Archaeological Museum, the Castle of Villeerdouin, the old market, the Byzantine church of Ippaandi, the coastline, the most stunning coastline of Southern Greece and of course the Municipal Railway Park, the only outdoor museum of its kind, where locomotives and trains of various eras are harmoniously placed in a lush green landscape, are just some of the historical and cultural sights to see near Kalamata.
